End of Ramadan

Yesterday was the last day of Ramadan, I thank God. Gone are the days of us having to go back to our apartment to eat hummus and peanut butter crackers (what we ate every day for lunch for the first two weeks). We can now enjoy delicious schwarma and rotisserie chicken whenever we want it! One of the great things about Jordan is how cheap the restaurants are, as long as you aren't after Western food a meal can be easily had for under $1.50 per person, thus the motivation to cook is extremely low. Today we bought a bottle of water and drank it in the street, instinctively the first few sips were laden with guilt. It's amazing how quickly you adapt to Ramadan.

As a quick aside the crazy pastor in Florida is all over the news here. I'm left wondering how we live in a world where 50 people can change the image of a country so easily, and I'm not sure I like that world.
